A student from University of North Alabama is conducting a study on all of the wolves and wolfdogs at Shy Wolf Sanctuary. Blood was drawn on the animals by vet tech students and teachers as well as Shy Wolf Sanctuary volunteers. We will take this opportunity to get blood panels and DNA swabs on all of our canines, and do a head-to-toe examination and grooming.
Some of our animals came labeled wolfdog on their paperwork. We think some of them look more like wolf…it will be exciting to learn who is actually full wolf!
