Children’s Network Art Project

Foster children experience animal encounter and create artwork for Shy Wolf Sanctuary.

Shy Wolf Sanctuary, Education and Experience Center hosted foster children from the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida for a guided animal encounter and
art project 9AM-1PM on August 27 and 28th, 2016.Healing Hearts Logo

The project allowed the children to express themselves artistically by painting wolf houses and benches with images of animals and
nature. Shy Wolf Sanctuary received grant money for children’s education from an anonymous family foundation.

“Most of our animals are rescued from abused, neglected or abandoned situations and foster children share similar life experiences,” stated Shy Wolf Sanctuary President, Deanna Deppen. “Animals teach us to forgive, trust and love unconditionally. Seeing the behavioral interaction between wolfdogs and children is amazing. It’s the healing hearts connection.”

The Children’s Network of Southwest Florida is a private, not-for-profit agency that has been providing child welfare services for the past thirteen years. Over the years, the agency has helped and protected thousands of children. Each year, the Children’s Network facilitates adoptions for hundreds of children. The Children’s Network manages a system of care that provides early intervention to families at risk, case management and services to both families whose children can safely remain in their homes and children who have been removed from their own homes and placed either in foster homes or with extended family.
