Jena was running loose for at least 6 weeks that we know of in Sumter county, Florida.  Kim Kapes of In Harmony with Nature got the initial call from the county asking for help.  A group was finally able to capture Jena, but Kim’s sanctuary was full.  Since In Harmony with Nature partners with us on rescue, she called us to take her…and we did!

Jena has lived with a few different animals including Jasper. After a while her and Jasper didn’t get along as they both wanted to be in charge, so we moved Jena in with Loki and Raven.  Jena was part of our only four pack at the sanctuary, with her packmates being Loki, Yardley, and Raven. Raven passed away in September of 2023 in his sleep due to old age, with his packmates around him. The pack mourned the loss of their friend, and we feel the loss brought the trio closer together as a family. Jena, Loki, and Yardley can be seen running around together and laying together when it is time to rest. Jena loves attention from her human friends too, but can take a little bit of time to warm up to them. She is incredibly sweet and will shower you with kisses once she is comfortable enough.
