Wolfie
ADOPTED: December 25th, 2020 – Christmas Day!!!
Working closely with a network of rescuers and supporters, Shy Wolf Sanctuary Education and Experience Center rescued a feral wolfdog near Eustis, Florida.
Shy Wolf connected with two volunteers in central Florida who are passionate about rescuing stray or lost pets. With the use of a wildlife camera and feeding routine, they were able to contain Wolfie safely. Shy Wolf Sanctuary’s rescue team brought the feral wolfdog back to Naples for medical evaluation.
Wolfie is approximately 11 years old and DNA testing revealed he is 38% German Shepherd and 24% wolf, with the rest being a mixture of breeds. While underweight and covered in ticks, Wolfie was otherwise in pretty good health. He will need hip surgery to ease the pain of age, but he now has a loving home to live in.
