Wildfire pet refugees retreat to Shy Wolf Sanctuary

A wildfire burned over 7,500 of land in collier county. Thankfully, Shy Wolf Sanctuary was safe. But a friend and Naples resident’s home was on high alert. When the evacuation notice was issued, Founder Nancy Smith and President Deanna Deppen left at night heading to the home and loaded up their friend’s pet lynx family. The animals were brought to Shy Wolf Sanctuary and parts of enclosures were sectioned off to accommodate the mom, dad, and baby lynx. Bobcat Professor BobLeo was not too happy about sharing his space with the dad, but cougar Cimarron didn’t mind sharing his back penthouse with mom and baby. We enjoyed having this beautiful family as guests. Their home was spared and they returned to their home.
