New Executive Director Deanna Deppen

Shy Wolf Sanctuary Education and Experience Center is very pleased to announce the appointment of Deanna L. Deppen as full-time Executive Director.  Effective August 8, 2017, she will step down as President of the Board of Directors to assume these responsibilities. For over 20 years, Deppen has been actively volunteering in the nonprofit world at all levels of operation, and has been key to the growth and success of Shy Wolf Sanctuary since its incorporation in 2001.

When asked about this major transition, Deppen said, “It’s a very exciting time for the sanctuary and I’m incredibly honored to be offered the opportunity to guide us into the future by building our dream prototype facility.  It will truly be a team effort with our amazing volunteers and supportive Board of Directors.”

Deppen’s appointment is a major step towards ensuring the future of the sanctuary.  Deppen will work with the Board of Directors in the search to obtain a new piece of property for a much needed larger sanctuary. She will oversee the capital campaign and development of the land. Other immediate goals will include directing all aspects of Shy Wolf Sanctuary’s operations, identifying and implementing improvements that will ensure the sanctuary’s sustainability, and expanding the Board of Directors.
