Jena

Shy Wolf Sanctuary, Education & Experience Center welcomes new wolf dog.

Jena 2Jena, who appears to be a timber wolf and shepherd mix wolf dog, was running loose for at least 6 weeks in Sumter county, Florida. Kim Kapes of In Harmony with Nature (IHWN) Animal Haven (Apopka, Florida) received the initial call from the county asking for help. A group was finally able to capture the very thin stray, but Kim’s sanctuary was full. Since IHWN partners with Shy Wolf Sanctuary on rescues, the call was made and Jena was transported to the sanctuary.

“Jena is very shy at first and does warm up to people with her sweet disposition. She was introduced to a male wolf dog, Lakota, and a female wolf, Julie. We are pleased they have welcomed her into their pack,” stated Deanna Deppen, Shy Wolf Sanctuary’s President.

Shy Wolf Sanctuary, along with In Harmony with Nature, rescues up to 100 wolf dogs in Florida and across the country that never come to reside at the sanctuary. The rescue teams carefully place animals in foster homes for eventual adoption and works with a network of trusted organizations, rescuers and volunteers.
